The Yamaha RX-675 and the Onkyo TX-NR636 are both fantastic AV (audio and visual) receivers. While they are both very high in customer satisfaction, they do have a few differences, including price, Apple AirPlay, and more. These things could be the defining factors in determining the ultimate decision, although there are several other things to keep in mind.
The YRX is an excellent receiver. It has a 7 channel amplifier, it has built in Wi-Fii, and it comes with a free controller. It is is praised by many because it has a USB port for Apple devices, has Apple AirPlay, and is a bit shorter than the OTX (in inches, 6-11/16 vs. 6-13/17). For those concerned about Audio-Video inputs, the YRX has 12, vs the OTX’s 7. The YRX also has 1 more Audio-only input, component video input, and optical digital input (2:1). The OTX has a few upper-hands itself. Although it also has a 7 channel amplifier, it has 7 HDMI inputs while the YRX has 6. It also has 1 more HDMI monitor output (2:1), and 1 phono input where the YRX has none. The OTX also has Bluetooth capabilities built in. It has a lesser depth (in inches, 13-5/8 vs. 14-9/16). It also weighs less by .1 pounds *22 vs 22.1). The OTX has Dolby Atmos capabilities while the YRX does not.

Conclusion
While both receivers offer 2 year parts and labor warranties, are internet ready, and have app remote controls, I believe the Onkyo TX-NR636 is the best receiver. It has more perks, it’s cheaper, and it’s lighter. The capabilities are better, while the Yamaha RX-67 seems to only benefit Apple Product users. The OTX is not limiting the way the YRX was in the things it offered. While it wasn’t a bad product, I found that I would get more usage out of the Onkyo TX-NR636. If you want more diversity and usage with your receiver, I suggest the Onkyo TX-NR636.
