Movie lovers can consider getting Epson 8350 or BenQ W1070 since both projectors are the top-notch in 1080p class. Both also have reasonably affordable prices. Of course, it’s a waste to purchase those two projectors for a single usage. So, Epson 8350 vs BenQ W1070, which one is the winner?
Not a Proper Competition?
I need to let you know from the beginning that this review is actually one sided. Almost all important aspects owned by a projector are prevailed by BenQ W1070. Yes, it seems for the first time after a while of barely-any-competition moment, Epson faces hard opponent. First and the most important thing, W1070 is fantastically cheaper. It’s only $679 compared to 8350 which is offered at $899. And with such low price, BenQ is said to be able to provide mind blowing features similar to the projectors sold at $3,000 or more! Does W1070 support 3D? Does it have durable lamp lifespan? Is it able to produce nice image quality within low distance to the screen? “Yes” is the answer to those questions. This tiny-yet-powerful projector has supported 3D technology which means you can enjoy more realistic visual experience as long as you have the glasses. W1070 has been proven to have longer lamp lifespan which is up to 6000h. Well, you can say goodbye to the urge to replace the lamp now and then. And during performance test, BenQ W1070 breathtaking-ly projects 120inch image in only 10ft while Epson 8350 needs about 12ft at minimum!

Does it mean there’s nothing good offered by Epson 8350? Of course, there are some stronger points like how Epson 8350 has less audible noise. When measured, 8350 has 28dB while W1070 is about 33dB. But, hey, it’s not really that much of a difference! 33dB is still quiet enough. Perhaps, something that can really be held as the pride of 8350 is its energy consumption. Significantly, Epson 8350 needs 272 watt. It’s almost up to 100 watt less than W1070 which needs to operate at 353watt.
