Using a decent projector for your home theater system can be a great choice. With a nice projector, you will be able to have a much larger display than using a single monitor. You can also adjust the screen size as needed. With the advanced technologies nowadays, projectors are now able to deliver images with high resolution and superior colors comparable to real monitors. Now, if you are looking for a 1080p DLP projector, you should consider Optoma HD142X and Benq HT2050. These two models are very popular on the market right now. Which is the one that you should choose?
Both Optoma HD142X and Benq HT2050 are 1080p DLP projectors. So, they are able to deliver similar resolution settings. You can enjoy Full HD visual experience with either projector. However, once we get to compare their output, we can then see some subtle differences. Optoma HD142X boasts considerably higher brightness power with 3000 ANSI Lumens, as opposed to Benq HT2050’s 2200 ANSI Lumens. Hence, as the effect, Optoma HD142X is able to deliver brighter and more vibrant images even in a bright room. In addition, Optoma HD142X also has a higher contrast ratio of 23,000:1. Benq HT2050’s contrast ratio is only 15,000:1. Thus, Optoma HD142X is able to deliver deeper and more accurate colors as well as more realistic dynamic range. Nevertheless, Benq HT2050 has the advantage of throw ratio; the model is able to project bigger images, from 60” up to 180”, from relatively short distances. The throw ratio is 1.15 – 1.5. The model can already throw a 79” display from 2m away. This is a very handy feature if you have a small room.
